The purpose of a Network Support Agreement with CompuNet, Inc. is to serve as the source document that establishes a formal technology partnership between the company and CompuNet, Inc.. Community financial institutions are not normally staffed with the technical expertise, experience and knowledge necessary to effectively and securely maintain the sophisticated computer networks, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, Intranets, and Extranets, that are installed in the financial institution. CompuNet, Inc. is staffed with fully certified cabling engineers, A+ certified service technicians, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE), and Certified Novell Engineers and Administrators (CNE/CNA). In addition, our staff has many years of experience in the technology and computer industry managing virtually every level of sophisticated computer networks, from stand-alone PCs to Local Area Networks (LAN) to Wide Area Networks (WAN) to Mainframe operations. Our expertise covers all areas of EDP/IS Management, including management oversight, audit controls, processing controls, backup procedures, disaster recovery planning and testing, contingency planning, program management, computer security and equipment/software controls.
The rapid growth of information systems technologies has caused significant changes in the way that financial institutions process data and information. The advanced technology in financial institutions needs to be managed by experts that are capable of understanding IS technologies and the impact these systems have on providing efficient, secure service to all customers, as well as how to maintain compliance with regulatory guidance from state and federal banking regulatory agencies.
A Network Support Agreement can be structured to provide a variety of services, based on the specific computing environment present and the outsourcing requirements of the customer. Support can range from purchasing a block of hours at a set rate to be used for accomplishment of "punch-list" actions during each visit, to total network "ownership" by CompuNet, Inc. wherein CompuNet assumes responsibility for the safe, secure and most efficient operation of the network possible.
Network Support Agreements can be structured to meet the needs of the financial institution, with visits that can be scheduled monthly, bi-monthly or on a quarterly basis to ensure the network is managed effectively. During each visit, network integrity checks will be performed on critical equipment and services to detect and fix any pre-failure indications of critical systems, ensure backup and recovery systems are working, anti-virus controls are current and working properly, and environmental controls are adequate and operating efficiently. Any problems found regarding critical network services, as identified in the support agreement, will be fixed without additional labor charges to the customer. All work performed by CompuNet, Inc. will be based on industry and regulatory standards.
